My list of 31 things that I will do this month to make me feel better about myself and lead to positive changes in my life.

  2. Cook a meal only with ingredients from the farmer’s market
  3. Organize my office – finally!
  4. Spend an afternoon in the garden
  5. Plan our October vacation
  6. Try a new local restaurant
  7. Go to the dentist
  8. Learn to kayak
  9. Take a hike on Mt. Beacon
  10. Go swimming in a watering hole
  11. Sort my closet and donate what I don’t wear anymore
  12. Host a dinner party
  13. Learn a new piece by J.S. Bach
  14. Reconnect with an old friend
  15. Take a trip to the shore
  16. Spend a day without media – social, radio or otherwise
  17. Read the Sunday New York Times
  18. Get a massage
  19. Discover a new town in the Hudson Valley
  20. Get my email to zero!
  21. Go see some art
  22. Play hooky and go see a mid-day movie
  23. Run 3 miles – no walking – for real
  24. Go one full day without spending any money (electively)
  25. Find a workshop or conference to attend
  26. Wear shorts to work (although it’s against policy)
  27. Use my phone as a phone (no apps) for a day
  28. Get my yearly health physical
  29. Do something nice for someone without a reason
  30. Make pancakes
  31. Spend a day off-line – completely
